  • What is BLS (Basic Life Support)

    Basic Life Support (BLS) training replaces the Health Care Practioner (HCP) level course.  It is specifically degined for health care professionals   to met their employment and college standards  


  • What does it mean to be a Red Cross Training Partner?

    We have an agreement to teach the Red Cross Training materials that have been developed to deliver results.

    • Full spectrum of courses available to meet the needs of employers, students, health care professionals and the community 
    • Red Cross First Aid courses meet CCOHS regulations and are approved by HRSDC, as well as all provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards (with the exception of Quebec).
  • What are the differences between Standard and Emergency First Aid & CPR?

    EMERGENCY FIRST AID covers the treatment for basic life threatening conditions—choking, heart attack, stroke, shock, as well as, CPR/AED and care for wounds.


    STANDARD FIRST AID  covers the emergency course, and also provides treatment for head and spinal cord injuries, sudden medical emergency ie (seizures/poisonings) and hyper and hypothermia.


    Level A only covers 1 person CPR for adults.

    Level C includes treatment for adults, children and infants.

  • Am I required by WSIB to train my staff in First Aid and CPR?

    Your business needs at least one employee who is certified with Emergency First Aid & CPR if you have between 1 - 5 employees.


    Standard First Aid & CPR is required by WSIB for companies with 6 or more employees. 


    At least one employee, who is certified, should be on duty and easily accessible at all times. 


    If your workplace has multiple areas, or floors, you need to have several people trained.

  • Are there course requirements?

    For successful completion of all courses, you will need to perform the following physical activities:

    • kneeling while compressing a mannequin 
    • moving from standing, to sitting, to laying position
    • group work for first aid and CPR scenarios

    Participants must attend and participate in 100% of the course.


    Completion Requirements for all courses


    100% attendance, skills demonstration, and 75% minimum passing grade on written exam.


    Completion of a course provides you with a 3-year certification.


    Pocket Resuscitation Mask 


    Red Cross Standards require that each participant have their own pocket resuscitation mask with a single-use one-way valve. If you do not have your own pocket resuscitation mask, you can purchase one at the time of your in-person class for $10.00. 

  • Is ABLe First Aid able to train my employees?

    As a Red Cross Training Partner,  ABLe Health Training will provide you with a Red Cross certificate following the sucessful completion of any of our courses.  This program meets the First Aid Regulation 1101 of the Workplace Safety & Insurance Act (WSIA)

We will book training at your location, or ours, and at a date and time you like.
